We are thrilled to announce that the winning entry in our naming contest is PlasticFreeFuture! With this app, we help you make healthier choices and recognize greenwashing, so you are no longer misled by false sustainability claims. Our app makes it easier than ever to adopt a plastic-free lifestyle. Simply scan a product’s barcode and instantly find out if it contains plastic. Thanks to a simple color-coded system, you’ll immediately see if a product is safe or if it contains harmful microplastics. PlasticFreeFuture is a powerful app, designed to help reduce your plastic consumption, often without even realizing how much you use! Here are some of the features you can look forward to:

- Color-Coded System – Instantly understand if a product is plastic-free, contains microplastics, or is loaded with harmful particles.
- Alternative Suggestions – Get recommendations for plastic-free alternatives to make healthier choices.
- Personalization – Create lists, set personal goals, and track your progress with thePlastic Diet Score.
- Gamification – Take part in fun challenges (solo or with others) and get better at making plastic-free choices.
- Sustainable Advice – Receive science-backed recommendations on which products to avoid and which plastic-free alternatives are available.
When will the new app be available?
We’re incredibly proud of this app, which is set to launch as a beta version in May 2025. PlasticFreeFuture will be much more user-friendly than our previous apps, like Beat the Microbead and My Little Plastic Footprint. We’ve taken the lessons from these apps and built something even better with a larger, more up-to-date database and improved features.
